How to download a program without having it downloaded onto other accounts?

Hi. I am using a shared computer and every time I download something (Such as I-tunes for example) it gets downloaded onto the other accounts on this computer.
I’m looking to download AIM or some other type of messenger that has to be downloaded but won’t download because it will be downloaded to all accounts. I only want it on mine.
Any advice? Thank you

It depends on what Operating system do you use.
You can install a program for a single account in most of the operating systems which has users accounts in it.
